To thwart the sadness I see

And negativity

Permeating my life.

In a soul-searching ode

To friends I chose and left

Behind in my life.

To apologize to family

Those who love me

And lived previously.

Of the one true thing

I once found real for me

Making life worthwhile if not extraordinary.
